THE PAULOWNIA TREE

Paulownia is a fast growing multipurpose hardwood tree comprising of nine sub-species with a few natural hybrids. The species itself is named after Queen Anna Pavlovna of the Netherlands and is also known as the Aluminum of woods for its light, flexible yet strong characteristics. Due its rapid growth and value in the timber market, many Paulownia species are cultivated in several temperate zones worldwide including in South East Asia, Europe, China, Japan, North America, Central America, and Australia.
Finterra Global Plantations has partnered with Gain Green, who after years of R&D, has come up with a selected variety of Paulownia, which has ability to grow in tropical climate and be ready for harvest in a short period of just 40 months. It is resistant to diseases, maintains a high grade quality and has been developed to meet the needs of both the domestic and international markets for planting materials required for a forestation, bioenergy products, furniture, industrial usage. New uses and related products are also being developed which ensures that it remains in high demand and holds economic importance throughout the year.
